Answer 50 Yes/No questions about your current environmental policies and practices so we can assess your work.
Where you answer 'Yes' to any of the questions, you will need to upload supporting evidence. This could be a photo, a policy document, a link to a webpage, or whatever you think is most appropriate.
You will probably need 5-6 hours to complete the self assessment form, but you don't need to do it all at once; you can save your progress and continue at another time.

After you submit your form, our assessors will review it and award points for the answers you have given and the supporting documents you have provided (so the evidence is crucial!).
To qualify as a Green Standard School you will need to obtain a minimum of 130 of the 200 available points. This means you don't have to be perfect (no school is) but you do have to demonstrate a commitment to sustainability across a range of your activities.
Our assessors also provide feedback to every applicant. So whether you qualify for accreditation or not, you will receive a detailed report with advice and suggestions completely free of charge.
We aim to review applications within 10 working days.

Membership
If you qualify for accreditation, we will ask you to sign a membership agreement and pay the corresponding fee (see table below). Once we have received the agreement, you will receive a certificate showing your accreditation, together with copies or our logo to use on your website and in social media.
If your application doesn't earn the minimum score required at the first attempt, don't despair!
Simply consider our assessors' comments and use their suggestions to take further environmental steps at your school. Then, when you can demonstrate that you have made some of these changes, update and resubmit your self assessment form and we'll evaluate it again.
